Please join us for the Angela Meade Vocal Competition on Sunday, November 2nd at 3 p.m. in Lagerquist Hall of the Mary Baker Russell Music Center.

The finalists will perform for the public before a panel of judges from the professional opera world. Students will compete for top honors and cash awards. All attendees are invited to a reception while the judges make their final decisions.

American soprano Angela Meade '01 is the winner of both the Metropolitan Opera's 2012 Beverly Sills Artist Award and the 2011 Richard Tucker Award. She has become recognized as one of today's outstanding vocalists, excelling in the most demanding heroines of the 19th-century bel canto repertoire as well as in the operas of Verdi and Mozart, and triumphing in 57 vocal competitions around the world.

The Angela Meade Vocal Competition is made possible by an endowment in her name, as well as donations from friends of PLU Opera, and is free and open to the public.
