Students of Color Retreat

The Students of Color Retreat (SOCR) is an annual retreat for students who identify as students of color or non white identify students. This is a space to explore cultural conditioning around race, validate experiences pertaining to race and other intersecting identities and cultivate community.

SOCR is facilitated by PLU staff and alumni of color at Camp Solomon Schechter. Transportation, meals, and lodging provided.   Cost of the Retreat is $10/student, scholarships are availible.

Friday Sept 27th
4:00   Leave PLU
5:30   Dinner
6:30   PM Session (who we are)
8:30   Talent show (A time to celebrate a talent of yours with the group. Prior examples include drag, singing, poetry, playing a musical instrument, comedy, cultural dress or  group performance… etc. This in not a requirement but an invitation to share as you so choose.)

Saturday Sept 28th
8:30     Breakfast
9:15     AM Sessions (Themes: identity development, intersectionality)
12:00   Lunch
1:30     PM Sessions (Themes: self advocacy, community visioning)
6:15     Return to PLU
