“Stay” is a warm and highly respected documentary where we meet 3 adults: Sigvald, who has been married 50 years. Mimi, who has a twin-sister, children and grandchildren, and Jan, who lives by himself. Their lives are severely changed due to their dementia disease, and they are completely dependent on their surroundings, and their comprehension of the situation. The musical language remains far longer than the spoken one. The film shows this in various ways. Sigvald - a former composer, Jan -a former pop-musician. They both enjoy singing and playing. Mimi finds comfort in familiar songs. In this life-giving movie the director plows deeply into the soar and sad loss, as well as detecting moments of light and humor. All this is reflected in sharp photography/film compositions.
